Comparing Maintenance Free Home Contractors

HackneyWhen comparing our maintenance free work with other exterior remodeling contractors, it is important that you are comparing all aspects of the job you wish to have done on your house. Many of our competitors are constantly talking and buying from many different manufacturers. They are looking for the cheapest price available on the products they are trying to sell. They will sell these products for whatever they can get for them. They will then, once a customer has contracted them to do the job, scramble to find an installation crew to complete the work for as little cost to the contractor as possible. (Questions to Ask)

HouseUnfortunately, this is often the "norm" in the exterior remodeling business. Commonwealth Energy Systems, however, does not operate that way. We are committed to the products we offer and the installation and service we provide. The Simonton and Norandex/Reynolds product lines we carry are of the highest quality and specifications in our industry. This is backed up by the numerous awards given by organizations like J. D. Powers, Good Housekeeping, and Consumer Reports.

Commonwealth Energy Systems is a "direct dealer." This means that we assure you that you will receive the quality products mentioned above and that the installation of these products on your house will be done the "RIGHT WAY."

As an example, let's say you contract with one of our competitors and agree to spend $12,000 on 14 new replacement windows for your home. Keep in mind, you are sure you got a great deal because when the sales representative was at your home the first price he/she gave you was $15,600. While the sales person was there he/she made a phone call to someone, some place, and, all of a sudden, BAM, the price was $13,500. After another phone call to someone else, BAM, the sales person is able to get you the windows for only $12,000. Man, you're saving $3,600 already and you haven't done anything. What a great deal!

A few weeks later, the installation crew arrives at your house and completes the job in no time. Your windows were installed and things were looking good. Yeah, you had to pick up trash and things, but, generally, all is well and you are happy. After all, you saved over $3,000! Three weeks later you receive a warranty for your windows from a manufacturer you have never heard of, but it is a lifetime warranty, so all is well.

One year later there is a problem with one of your windows. It won’t stay open and it is fogged up. You call the company you purchased the windows from and, guess what, they don’t stock those particular windows anymore. They are now selling a "better" window. However, you have a warranty with the number on the back, so you find your warranty paperwork and make the call. We are going to be positive and assume the manufacturer is still in business and operating under the same name. The manufacturer says they will send a representative out as soon as one is in the area and six months later, here comes the manufacturer's representative. He says, "Yup, there is a problem here but there is nothing wrong with the window, this is, obviously, because of how it was installed." Now you are back to the company you purchased the windows from, but they don’t have those anymore and the crew that put them in is gone.

HouseAs painful as it is, this, too, is often the norm. At Commonwealth Energy Systems, we maintain our product lines, use our own installation crews, service what we sell, and provide labor for warranty issues at no cost to our customers. We do all of this and do it at FAIR PRICES!

Please, be sure you are comparing apples and apples when you compare our work with others bidding for your job!
