Commonwealth Energy Systems opened for business on April 6, 1999, but we were not the new kids on the block. The owner, Stephen Smith, and eight 
key employees had all worked for the largest window and siding company in Central Virginia and had a combined experience of over 170 years in the home improvement field. We all had learned that just selling a quality product was not enoough. Even the best product is not satisfactory if it is not installed properly. We pride ourselves on the very best window and siding installers who only work for us. It is much more cost effective to do the job right the first time. Much of our business is obtained by referrals from our satisfied customers. We do have a service department, because some things are unavoidable such as glass breakage. When service is required, we do it in a timely fashion.
